This widespreading Green Buttonwood specimen was suffering from root rot, and was in danger of dying, so it was the first Champion tree in Florida chosen for cloning. Terry Mock fed the tree trace minerals and vitamins, and inoculated its soil with micro-organisms. Happily, the tree has revived and is thriving again.
