sacred site surveys
Onondaga Valley
Once a month, beginning Spring Equinox, the Finger Lakes chapter of the American Society of Dowsers sponsors field surveys of sacred sites around Onondaga Lake. One Saturday each month, survey members gather at Onondaga Park and investigate at least two sites. Most will be the third Saturday, except May and June.
Each Saturday survey begins at sunrise in Onondaga Park. At 8am, survey teams meet to decide strategy and locations, then at 9am disburse to investigate, map, photograph, and document other sites.
Late in the afternoon, survey teams meet at Willow Bay on the northeast shore in Onondaga Lake Park to review field notes and hold a Water Ceremony.
