Spin Threads ~ Weave Webs
by David Yarrow
November 1996
The Hopi—Peaceful People—live in nine villages on three mesas in rainbow-colored Painted Desert on one mile high Colorado Plateau of the Southwest's Four Corners of North American—known by natives as Turtle Island. Hopi village Oraibi is America's oldest continuously occupied settlement. These ancient first peoples in highland desert remember Creator sent Spyder Woman to weave a web around the Earth so Huemans can live here.

Spyder is creative female force that spins and weaves the beautiful designs of life. Spyder's spinnings in the night catch the day's first light. Her intricate webs catch morning dew, to sparkle with rainbow hues of dawn's clear radiance. Spyder's dream of the physical world came to fruition millions of years before Huemans appeared on Earth.

Spyder Woman weaves webs of Fate. Her threads are beams of light that link Earth to far stars. Her web is Earth's magnetic field that holds our rotating globe in a donut-ring bubble of spinning, ringing flux threads. Geomagnetism forms a nest of electric shells to permit our planet to hold air and water. Without these energy fields as shields, Earthlife can't exist.

Spyder Woman's web is also the Earth Grid—an orderly geometry of geomantic "dragon lines" spun into 60 primary "great circles" around the planet. Every local nook and cranny on Earth's surface is woven into this web of telluric flux. Through this grid and web, everything is connected.

Spyder is a hunter who lives by eating insects. Supreme Predator in insect worlds, Spyder sits at the apex of the feeding web of six-leggeds. Those caught in her web become her dinner. Huemans, too—caught in physical world webs of illusion and delusion—never see beyond horizons to other dimensions.

Spyder doesn't bite and chew her food, but secretes enzymes to dissolve her prey to suck up a liquid feast. In evolution, Spyder perfected protein digestion enzymes: proteases.

Spyder's diet is protein; she eschews the carbohydrates of plants. Her thread is a super-coiled coil of spun spiral protein. When she climbs her filament or packs up her web, Spyder's enzymes eat her thread back into liquid protein.

The key to evolution is eating: we are who we ate. This is every creature's Fate. Spyder ate bugs who met fate on her silken plate. In fact, Black Widow, after having sex, the Queen of Protease, to procreate, she ate her mate.

So Spyder's number is eight—symbol of Creation's infinite possibilities. Spyder's body is a numeral eight [ 8 ]—two lobes connected at the waist. Spyder's eight legs are the Four Directions on the Medicine Wheel and Four Winds of Change.

Numeral eight [ 8 ] is the Infinity sign stood on end. The doubled "O"—one above the other—is the image of Heaven over Earth—joined. At these twin circles' center, Spyder guards the 4-sided gate between lower and upper realms. This "X" isn't Zero or Alpha—but Omega Point: infinite time and space—crossover to Eternity: entry to divine nine time.

Ancient China's Ba-Gua-geomancers' compass with eight trigrams (three line figures)—portrays primary permutations of Creation's infinite possibilities as Duality seeks balance in Three. "I Ching" oracle is 64 [ 8 X 8] six-line figures: Heaven over Earth.

Ancient Sumerian symbol of the Universe was an 8-by-8 grid of alternating black & white squares—chessboard on which to play the gambits of fate.

Spyder senses her prey by vibrations in her web—tensions in the magnetic flux. With this magnetic sense, she navigates the night to find and seize her prey.

Spyder Medicine is Mariner's Compass, with eight cardinal points, whose image is Polaris, North Pole star, tip of Little Dipper's handle—hole into geomagnetic waveform nest, ringed by raInbow Aurora. All creatures navigate and migrate home by magnetism. Compass and Polaris allow Huemans to navigate Earth, in darkness or an ocean.

Deer asked Spyder: "Why do you weave webs whose lines look like symbols?"

Spyder replied, "Why Deer, Earth's children must make records of their Earthwalk."

Deer said, "But they already have pictures to record their stories."

"Yes," Spyder said, "But Earth's children grow more complex. Future generations will need to know more, and won't know how to read the petroglyphs."

So Spyder's woven web brought Huemans the alphabet, whose letters are angles in her web, even as she had woven the primordial dream of the world that became manifest. Her geometric designs provide the cryptic code of shapes to record and remember the past. Threads of Spyder Medicine appear in many times and places in the fabric of Hueman history.

Spyder's cryptic code of shapes is the spinning spiral dance of DNA in biology—twin threads to record the original instructions for each cell's harmony in every species' symphony. Geometric symmetries of this magnetic tapestry of memory are 3-D templates for our 2-D scriptic alphabets. (see "Alphabet of the Heart" by Dan Winter.)

In 13th century Europe, Templars, with eight-sided chapels and naval armada, used Spyder Medicine to site, design and build Gothic cathedrals devoted to Notre Dame—feminine mystery. The greatest is Chartres—with eight-sided rose window of raInbow stained glass—dedicated to virgin-mother and black madonna.

In the 16th century, pirates flying skull & crossbones ["X"] Jolly Roger, counted wealth in doubloon pieces-of-eight.

In 20th century world wars, Spyder's super-coiled, super-thin yet strong thread was crosshairs in spyglass periscopes of submarines—lurking predators and hidden hunters under the sea. And Spyder's cryptic codes became electromagnetic codes for radio communication

In the Cold War, with it's Iron Curtain [heavy metal magnetic polarlity, the icon spy in Her Majesty's Secret Service was 007—encoded as doubled O. His successor was, of course, 008.

Today, the CIA, its with spies, black projects and cyphers to encode secret communications, spawned and spun the World-Wide Web of the electronic Internet. Cypherspace became cyberspace, where information is encoded in eight bit bytes. Magnetic compass is now man-made stars: spy satellites beaming microwave digital signals.

And on Earth, the newest weapon in a war on AIDS, a sexually transmitted plague, is "protease inhibiter"—biochemical antidote to SpyderWoman's disgestive enzymes.
